Obama: Too Many Folks in Our Prisons

Hi, everybody. Today, there are 2.2 million people behind bars in America and millions more on parole or probation. Every year, we spend $80 billion in taxpayer dollars to keep people incarcerated. Many are non-violent offenders serving unnecessarily long sentences.

I can think of one more person who should be added to that 2.2 million.

I wonder if he’s got an evil plan for a mass pardon on his last day in office, like what Clinton did only large-scale. Pardon the prisoners and pardon the illegal aliens.

On a side note, I actually agree that we have too many people in prison in this country.  It seems like we have the technology to keep them under house arrest and force their relatives to care for them.  Prisons, after all, represent a meeting of the criminal minds.
